Ivory Grande Event Space
Architecture
Nestled within a lush 21-acre rural lot in Highland County, The Ivory Grande stands as the county’s newest and most distinguished event center. This architectural project celebrates the region’s vernacular heritage while infusing it with modern elegance, creating a unique destination that bridges rural charm with upscale sophistication. The owner envisioned a structure that pays homage to local agricultural roots through a traditional barn exterior, complemented by an interior reminiscent of a refined wedding cake—crisp, bright, and inviting.
Constructed using pole-building techniques, the venue features heavy quadruple laminated LVL posts that provide both strength and a sense of rustic authenticity. The two-story design maximizes functional space and grandeur, offering seating for over 300 guests, alongside covered outdoor areas that seamlessly connect the indoors with nature. A grand stairway becomes a focal point for bridal entries, accentuating moments of celebration with drama and elegance, while a reflecting pond adds tranquility to the landscape, enhancing the overall ambiance.
The Ivory Grande is more than just a venue; it is a catalyst for community engagement and regional identity. Its strategic location provides Hillsboro and surrounding areas with a premier destination for weddings, celebrations, and gatherings that draw visitors from beyond Highland County’s borders. The owner’s emphasis on sourcing local talent was a guiding principle throughout the project. From architects and subcontractors to vendors and artisans, every participant was carefully chosen for their strong ties to the area and their understanding of Highland County’s cultural fabric. This commitment not only supported the local economy but also ensured that the venue’s design and construction reflect the community’s spirit.
Few venues of this scale and character exist in Highland County and surrounding regions, making The Ivory Grande a significant addition to the local landscape. It stands as a testament to innovative design rooted in community values, forging a new chapter for rural event spaces. More than an infrastructural achievement, it embodies a vision for sustainable, locally-inspired architecture that will serve as an enduring symbol of celebration, connection, and regional identity for generations to come.
