Leadership Transition

We are proud to announce a leadership transition that marks an exciting new chapter in the firm’s continued growth and evolution.

🎉 Honoring Mike McCarty’s Retirement

After more than 50 years of dedicated leadership, Mike McCarty, son of the firm’s founder, is retiring from his role as Partner and Chief Executive Officer. Under his guidance, the firm expanded its multidisciplinary services, embraced technological advancements, and maintained the core values on which the company was built. We are deeply grateful for Mike’s lasting impact and leadership.

🏢 Tom Purtell Named Chief Executive Officer

Longtime partner Tom Purtell has been appointed Chief Executive Officer. A graduate of The Ohio State University and a member of McCarty Associates since 1973, Tom brings unmatched institutional knowledge and operational experience. His appointment reflects a strong commitment to continuity and long-term stability.

🤝 Cody Beucler Joins the Partnership

As part of this transition, Cody Beucler has been named a Partner alongside Tom Purtell, Jason McConnaughey, Doug Karnes, and Dallas Puckett, and will serve as Director of the Engineering Department.

Cody is a Brown County resident originally from Sardinia, Ohio, and a summa cum laude graduate of The Ohio State University with a degree in civil engineering. He brings extensive experience from ODOT and Parsons Transportation, and joined McCarty Associates in 2022 to work closer to home. Cody is a registered Professional Engineer in Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky and is a Surveyor Intern in Ohio.

This leadership transition reflects McCarty Associates’ continued focus on stability, continuity, and long-term success. We look forward to the future and remain committed to serving our clients and communities with excellence.
