Lead Project Engineer

Graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ohio State University in 2012 with a Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering and two minors, one in Business and the other in Surveying. Originally from Sardinia, Ohio, Cody began his career with the Ohio Department of Transportation-District 9, where he completed their Engineering-In-Training program. While in their EIT program he gained exposure to several different departments within ODOT, specifically Highway Management, Planning, Surveying, Design, and Construction. Cody joined Parsons Corporation in January of 2014 to further his design experience within the Heavy Highway Industry. Cody spent 8 years with Parsons Corporation where he led the design of many heavy highway projects and developed a diversified design portfolio. Design portfolio includes major design build added travel lanes, roundabouts, small structure replacements, ADA facility design, trail design, intersection improvements, noise walls, bridge overlays, and preventative maintenance projects. After leading design on a multitude of projects, Cody transitioned to a Project Manager with Parsons, completed their Project Manager Certification Program and was responsible for managing all aspects of design projects, including contracting, invoicing, scheduling, budgeting, etc. Cody joined McCarty Associates this past fall, October 2022, as he was looking for a more intimate setting closer to home where he can use his engineering skills to make an impact on his local community.

Cody is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Ohio and the State of Indiana, and is a registered Surveyor Intern in the State of Ohio.

Cody spent the last 8 years with Parsons Transportation developing and honing his highway design skills on a variety of different projects all throughout the United States, working on highway design projects in Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, Georgia, Texas, California, and Missouri. Cody has experience in all aspects of highway design; complex horizontal and vertical geometry, 3D design (modeling), maintenance of traffic design, erosion and sediment control design, drainage design (closed storm sewer, ditch design, culvert design), design review, plan production, and project delivery. While with McCarty Associates Cody has already diversified his design background by working on several site design projects, which includes site layout, grading, closed storm sewer systems, utility design, detention design, and erosion control design.
