Michael L. McCarty, P.E., P.S.- CEO Graduated Summa Cum Laude from Ohio University College of Engineering in 1971 and worked three years in the construction materials industry. In 1974, Mike joined the firm where he began to assume the engineering design duties. After becoming a registered professional engineer in 1975, Mike became a member in the firm and took over management of the business. Since 1975, he has had design responsibility for the engineering related components of many major projects. Mike is past chapter president of Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio and is a member of the Ohio Society of Professional Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, and American Society of Civil Engineers.
Thomas E. Purtell, P.S.

Graduated Cum Laude from Ohio State University in 1973 and has been a member of the firm since. He is a registered professional surveyor and has complete responsibility of the surveying department. This important preliminary service is handled in house for us, which assures that the design of the project can begin promptly. It also assures that the proper information is obtained during the survey. Tom is a member of American Congress on Surveying, and Mapping and is a member and past chapter president of the Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio.
Eric N. Lutz, P.S.

Received his Associate of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from Cincinnati Technical College in 1980 and in June 1989 received his certification as a registered professional surveyor. Eric has worked in the field of surveying since 1978 and joined the firm as a member in 1990. His technical expertise enhances our experienced field crews. Eric is a member of the Professional Land Surveyors of Ohio.
Loren M. Puckett, P.E.

Project Manager and Engineering Department Coordinator, is a 1984 graduate of the Ohio State University College of Engineering. Loren has worked for the firm of Gale Helms & Associates, Inc., in all capacities and has extensive design experience in streets, highways, bridges, sanitary, storm water runoff, and building structural design. Loren became a partner with Gale Helms Associates, Inc., in 1985 and served as managing partner until the firm merged with McCarty Associates in 1991. In 1995, Loren became a member of the firm and he currently manages the Washington Court House office.
Jerrold B. Bradley, AlA

Graduated from Ouachita Baptist University, Arkadelphia, Arkansas, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in 1978. He later obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Architecture from the University of Texas in 1987. From 1983 to 1987, Jerrold ran his own construction company while working on his degree in architecture. After graduation in 1987 until 1990, he served as vice-president for Allied Equipment Supply, Inc., a specialty construction equipment company. Jerrold joined our firm in 1990 and became a project manager for many of our architectural projects. In 1994, Jerrold assumed the management of the architectural department and received his certification as a Registered Architect in 1996. Jerrold is a member of the American Institute of Architects. In 1998, Jerrold became a member in the firm.
Donald V. Chambers - Project Consultant

Don has worked most of his career in the construction industry since graduating from Ohio State University College of Agriculture in 1957. He worked for Barger Construction Company from 1954 to 1965 during which time he became vice-president. In 1966, Don went to work for Higgins Construction Company, where he was involved in sales along with the construction of many projects ranging from $500 to over $1,000,000. In 1983, Don joined our firm and brought this extensive background to use in coordinating various aspects of the project. He is especially important in that his ability to review final plans and specifications from a builder’s point of view assures the project will proceed smoothly during the construction phase.
Kim Stoltz, CPA

Kim graduated Cum Laude from Miami University with a Bachelor of Science in Business, majoring in Accounting. She worked four years for a public accounting firm where she earned her C.P.A. She later worked for several years in Cincinnati and Dayton for healthcare companies before returning to her hometown of Hillsboro. Kim has been with McCarty Associates since 1998. She handles all financial responsibilities for the company.
Matt Binder, Mechanical Designer/Construction Specialist
mbinder@mccartyassociates.comMatt began working for McCarty Associates in 2005. He was previously a designer with a Cincinnati M/E/P engineering firm for six years. Matt works in the Architecture Department as CAD Technician on various projects and Construction Specialist on our full-service projects. He has extensive experience in HVA/C Design. Matt graduated with an Associates Degree from Southern State Community College in Drafting Design Technology in 1998. Matt is a member of the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers, Inc.
Chad McConnaughey, Surveying Technician

Graduating Cum Laude with an Associates degree from Southern State Community College, Chad began working for McCarty Associates in 1995 as part of our field crew. This experience helped develop his ability to draw accurate survey plats and construction layout points. Chad currently works as a Surveying Technician for the Survey Department.
Darrick Davidson- Survey Crew Chief

Darrick has worked for McCarty Associates since 1992. He graduated with an Associates degree from Cincinnati State Community College. He is currently a Survey Crew Chief for our Hillsboro office. His long tenure with our company insures accuracy as it relates to company policy for the survey crew.
Eric Arledge – CAD Technician/Construction Specialist earledge@mccartyassociates.com
Eric began working for McCarty Associates in 2006. He was previously an architectural draftsman and office manager with a construction service in Chillicothe for 12 years. Eric works in the Architecture and Engineering Departments as a CAD Technician on various projects and as a Construction Specialist on full service projects. He has extensive experience in architectural and electrical design. Eric graduated from Pickaway-Ross Joint Vocational Center with a certificate in Engineering Graphics.

Jerry began his surveying career in 1973 with Gale Helms in Washington Court House. In 1991 the firm of Gale Helms was merged with McCarty Associates. Jerry has been a part of our survey crew ever since. He is a strong Survey Crew Chief who works mainly out of our Washington C.H. office.
Norm Neuberger- CAD Technician

Graduating from Miami University with an Arts and Science degree, Norman is our most senior CAD Technician. He has been with McCarty Associates since 1979. Norman specializes in working with the survey department.
Josh Iler- Engineering and CAD Technician

Josh obtained a dual Associates Degree from Southern State Community College in both Arts and Science and Drafting Design Technology. He began his career with McCarty Associates in 2000. He works mainly as the CAD Technician for the Engineering Department. He has worked on large projects such as Jackson County Water Company.
David Sibole- CAD Technician

Graduating with an Associates Degree from Southern State Community College in Drafting Design Technology. David began his CAD career in 1986 with Gale Helms in Washington Court House. In 1991 the firm of Gale Helms was merged with McCarty Associates. David has been an important member of our CAD operation ever since. He works mainly out of our Washington C.H. office and in fact functions as the Office Manager.
Jim Florence – Architectural CAD Technician/Construction Specialist
Jim began working for McCarty Associates
in 1990 and worked here until 1997. He then worked as a Construction
Engineer for Airborne Express/DHL until 2007. Jim returned to McCarty
Associates in 2008. He has extensive experience working on small to
very large construction projects as a Project Manager as well as a
Construction Inspector. He also has experience working on active FAA
airports. Jim graduated from ITT Technical Institute in 1989 with
an Associates Degree in Architectural Engineering. He works in the
Architectural Department as a CAD Technician and as a Construction
Specialist on full service projects.
Jason McConnaughey – Survey Crew Chief
Jason began working with McCarty Associates as a co-op in 2004 and became a full time employee in 2005. Jason currently works as a crew chief out of our Washington Court House office. Jason graduated Magna Cum Laude with an Associates Degree from Cincinnati State Technical and Community College in Civil Engineering-Surveying in 2005 and graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Construction Management / Surveying from Northern Kentucky University in 2008.
