Lowell McCarty founded McCARTY ASSOCIATES in 1963 with just two employees. The original name of the company was McCarty Engineering and its office was located in the basement of Lowell’s home in Peebles, Ohio.

  In 1967, the company was moved to an office on the second floor of a building on East Main Street in Hillsboro, Ohio. As the company continued to grow, it took two more moves before in 1980, it made a home on the second floor of the building where it is currently located at 213 North High Street. It has since expanded its operations to occupy both the first and second floors.

  McCARTY ASSOCIATES acquired an interest in the firm of Gale Helms Associates, Inc., located in Washington Court House, Ohio, in 1984. In 1990, in order to better reflect the diversity of the firm by offering architecture, engineering, and surveying services, the name was changed from McCarty Engineering to McCARTY ASSOCIATES. In 1991, Gale Helms Associates, Inc., was merged with McCARTY ASSOCIATES and is now operated as a branch office to serve clientele in the Fayette and surrounding Counties.
  In 2007, a branch office was opened in Loveland to serve our growing business in the Cincinnati area.

  After 44 years of serving Southern Ohio, McCARTY ASSOCIATES continues to see steady growth and currently employs over 30 people.
